Pronoun IT


                         
A. It is normally used of a thing or an animal whose sex we
    don't know and sometimes of  baby or a small child:  
This is my dictionary. I got it cheaply as its cover was torn  
Look at that bird. It always comes to my window.    
                         
B. It is used in expression of time, distance, weather,   
    temperature , tide :                
 A. Heather : It is hot.   It is hot. It is windy. Etc      
 B. Time        : What time is it? It is six. It is Monday.    
 C. Distance  : It is  kms from here to my house.      
 D. Tide         : It is high tide. It is low tide.        
                         
C.It is used to express Question/Answer identity :    
                         
   Ann :Who is it ?                   
   Bill   : It is me.                  
                         
D. It is used when an infinitive is subject of a sentence, we 
     usually begin the sentence with it and put infinitive later.
                         
     To criticize is easy.                
     It is easy to criticize.                
                         
E.  It is used when subject of a sentence is a clause.    
                             
      That the price will go up is certain.        
       IT is certain that the price will go up.
